Carl Pasquale Paladino born 24 August 1946 is an American businessman from Buffalo, New York. Paladino has won the Republican nomination as candidate for Governor of New York.His candidacy is supported by the Tea Party movement.
Paladino registered with the party in 1974 and remained there until 2005. In 2009, involved Paladino on behalf of South Buffalo councilman Michael Kearns Buffalo mayor's election campaign against sitting Byron Brown. Both were Democrats.
Paladino competed against Rick Lazio, Steve Levy, and Myers Mermel for the Republican nomination. He fell far from the 25 percent needed for automatic ballot access. Paladino beat Lazio in the primary election on 14 September 2010 with heavy support in the country's western New York.
